Bitcoin surges to record high above $6000

This is the highest record of both bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. Bitcoin's current market value is about $99,7 billion, according to Coinmarketcap.com. This is more than the value of most companies in the world. According to BrandZ, nearly as much was the "value" of Amazon in 2016; the company was the seventh in the overall ranking and the first among top retailers.

Time will show whether bitcoin can win back lost positions and hit again the $6000 mark. Nevertheless, it demonstrates sustained growth and development over the last years.
